Just simple tutorials trying to work with text in After effects rather than importing photoshop/illustrator files.

Just put the timeline on for a quick reminder if I forget how to do this for future reference.

Experimenting with Bounce

Bounce Idea from Paul Brandreth on Vimeo.

Ideas there pretty standard for what happens but I just want to produce a few simple 5 second clips to get used to the software before I start advancing. Reminds me of comic relief.

Packaging Nets

The above presentation shows the PDF files for the packaging nets.

The first page shows the outside of the net would be produced with offset lithography. The pdf is scaled to the actual size. This net would be produced in a run of 10,000, also the advantage with offset Litho is that the company can hold on to the plates to produced more boxes later.

The second page show the outline of where the net would need to be cut.

The third page shows where the tear strip dashed lined cut off needs to be all line with the other documents.

The forth page shows where the folds needs to be again all the scale and in place with the documents

The fifth page is the black and spot colour net to be printing by pad onto the glass jar of honey. Five different nets for Five different places.

Tester Pots & Promotional Flyer

The first page is a PDF for the stickers to be applied to the testers for promotional use. There is a bleed on each of these. Lithography printed as there would be 25,000 Tester pots 5,000 printed for each different place.

The second page is where the stickers would need to be cut out to the scale of the tester pots

The third page is the promotional flyers (trans-promotional - DC) all the be produced using Lithography as again there would be in the region 25,000 printed off.

Promotional Box PDF

The first page is the promotional box, we wouldn't need to many printed off so could use digital print as the costs to set up other prints wouldn't be worth it.

The second page demonstrates the outline for where the net needs to be cut out.

The third page demonstrates where the folds need to be for the box

The forth page is the lid for the box agin printed digitally.

The fifth page shows the outline of where the net needs to be cut out.

Mock Up: Promotional Box

Promotional Box ideal for company to promote the Amulet Honey range or for a supermarket to promote the amulet range.

The testers are all colour coded to the same as the actual glass jar product to add identity to the company.

The box above is scaled down to 2:1 as the cost of the printers at college would have cost to much so it was produced to as big as I could afford in scale with the actual really box if it went into production.

I really like the photographs with the hay inside it gives it that organic farmers feel towards the product.

Mock Up: Packaging

This is the box to send out to customers who have purchased a jar from our range off the internet. the packaging is based around the idea of the ware house where all the hexagons are stacked on top of each other so all the factory worker can see is the bottom of the packaging with the number of the product on.

The stock would need to be more protective and not scratched as easy, white card 240gsm.

The darker colours were used to reflect the dark brown hexagons in the hive but also works well with the jars colours as well.

Mock Up: Testers

The mock up testers have came out really well. Love the colours and reflects to the colours of the actual jars to buy from stores or online so gives it identity. The testers give all the information the reader needs. These would be produced lithography process because of the amount need to be printed 25,00 and keep for future needs.

Mock Up: Promotional Shirt

T-shirt, there won't be alot of these needed to be printed off maybe 100 in total. I have tried to make a mock up using a silkscreen and help from the technician. However we both noticed that it is harder to get a bright colour print on a dark material than the other way around. This is something to remember for future reference.

Mock Up: Promotional Flyer

Mock up flyers for promotional use when also handing out the testers. Colours reflect the different products in the range referring to the different shades of honey.

Mock Up: Jar

Final mock up for one of the five jars of honey in the range. It could either be printed using PAD or Flexography. I wanted to used self adhesive stock but could only by the stock as a role which was hard to print on because when I laid it out there was bubbles and creases in the stock and couldn't get this stock in sheets. Take this into consideration I think if it was printed in industry it would look really good. I like the lower opacity for the wings as well, only two colour print for the whole range of glass jars!

Final Crit

These were the boards taken to the final crit. I still had to take photographs of my mock ups so thats why it's all rendered on a computer. I wanted to know if the boards made sense, tell a story so I could replace the images with my photographs the following day. The feedback was that it made sense in order and layout but I had to put a few action shots and mock up photographs on. Also make type smaller 10pt?

Mock up

Two action shots of making the mock up for the packaging. The stock would have to be stronger and be able to mark less.

Replacing the Heinz ketchup with my own designs. I am happy with the testers as the size has been based around what materials were available rather than making rendered examples. Maybe the stock could be gloss?
